Insurance Information
I am an out of network (OON) financial therapy provider. Therefore, you are responsible for the full rate of the session at the time of service. However, as many people have OON coverage, I am happy to provide you with a super bill at the end of each month, which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement with an OON provider. The reimbursement rate will depend on your specific coverage as well as whether or not you have reached your deductible.
The CPT code that I use for individual financial therapy is 90837 Psychotherapy, and the CPT code that I use for couples financial therapy is 90847 Family Psychotherapy, conjoint psychotherapy with the patient present. You can provide these codes to your insurance provider, and they should be able to tell you what their reimbursement rate is for service with an OON Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
Insurance providers do not recognize or reimburse emotionally focused financial coaching. Therefore, I do not provide super bills to clients living outside of Washington state.
Frequency and Duration
Financial therapy is most effective when appointments take place on a weekly or biweekly basis. Appointments are 53 minutes long and take place on a consistent day and time.
Financial therapy varies in duration based on your individual needs, goals, and progress. I have worked with some clients for as little as a few months and with other clients for a couple years.
Financial coaching appointments are 53 minutes and may take place on a one time, occasional, or ongoing basis.
Sliding Scale
As I would like for financial therapy to be accessible to everyone, I do reserve a limited number of sliding scale slots. As a financial therapist, I understand that income is not the only factor in one’s finances; I take several factors into consideration when determining qualifications for sliding scale. If you have questions about sliding scale availability, feel free to reach out.
